Helmsley Walled Garden

Easter Monday – just a small gallery

Dating back to 1759, Helmsley Walled Garden nestles between the Grade One listed landscape of Duncombe Park and the scheduled ancient monument that is Helmsley Castle in the heart of North Yorkshire. Now run as a charity it has always sought to retain serenity, be a reflective space and use gardening for its restorative qualities.

An old gardener once said –  ‘Sometimes I sits and thinks, and other times I just sits’.

My camera was playing up and many photos ended up out of focus so there are only these few that may be of interest and I thought would be an opportunity to try a circular gallery. This was Spring, I will be back in the summer to see how the garden changes.
